Cats are Cool!

Ancient Companions: Cats were domesticated around 9,000 years ago in the Near East. They were revered in ancient Egypt, where they were associated with the goddess Bastet.

Whiskers for Navigation: A cat’s whiskers are highly sensitive and help them navigate their surroundings. They can detect changes in their environment and help them gauge the width of openings.

Purring Powers: Cats purr not only when they’re content but also when they’re stressed, in pain, or even healing. The frequency of a cat’s purr (25-150 Hertz) is known to have therapeutic effects.

Flexible Bodies: Cats have incredibly flexible spines and can twist their bodies in mid-air to land on their feet when they fall—a skill known as the “righting reflex.”

Unique Nose Prints: Just like human fingerprints, a cat’s nose print is unique. Each cat has a distinct pattern of ridges and bumps on its nose.

Low-Impact Sleepers: Cats sleep for an average of 12-16 hours a day. This trait is rooted in their evolutionary history as predators, conserving energy for hunting.
